Frank Horath

Frank enjoys bringing powerful software apps for Social Security income optimization to both the financial advisory and accounting professional community.  Frank, and his associate Martha Shedden, provide a suite of 5 Social Security income classes to several on-line CPE continuing education providers for both accountants and Certified Financial Planners (CFPs).  Frank regularly consults and collaborates with CPAs, FMOs, broker-dealer and their reps, independent financial advisors and teams to add value and growth to their practices with Social Security income planning. Frank and his financial advisory team also assist their own clients and educate other local professionals (CPAs and attorneys) about financial planning and retirement transition issues, such as Social Security income planning, portfolio diversification, and optimal retirement income distribution.

Frank began his career in the financial services industry as an account executive with Merrill Lynch in 1994. He then worked as a Financial Advisor for Dean Witter/Morgan Stanley between 1997 and 2008. Frank made the move to independence affiliating with his current independent broker-dealer in early 2008. He is a registered rep and supervisor, IAR, and has multiple securities licenses. Frank thoroughly enjoys cultivating relationships with financial advisors. He began developing the Social Security canGROW Your Financial Practice Tool KitTM  near the end of 2010, with the objective of helping financial advisors guide their clients make smarter Social Security income election decisions.  The Tool KitTM evolved into an online digital membership with membership-only options and memberships with software through 2016.

Frank has presented both nationally and locally to numerous FMOs, registered reps, accountants, and attorneys on how early and pre-retirees can maximize and optimize their Social Security income election. He is a registered provider with the State of California Bar Association providing continuing MCLE legal education units to California Attorneys on Social Security income planning.

Frank is the author of the ebook, “How to Grow Your Financial Practice with Social Security Income Planning.” He has been a beta software tester for some of the top Social Security income planning software developers in the United States.  Frank has been cited on Social Security income planning in numerous publications such as Morningstar, Investment News, US News, Life Health Pro, and Producers Web.

Frank’s acclaim extends beyond the financial advisor realm. In 2005, Frank, his son and two members of a California winemaking family were stranded for a week in an early season snowstorm in the Sierra Nevada. The news media picked up on the story, which was featured in Time Magazine and on CNN and continues to play on the Weather Channel Documentary “Storm Stories.”

Frank, his wife, Mary, and their three children live on the Central Coast of California. Frank holds Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of California. He loves backpacking, mountaineering, surfing, free-diving, and his daily Bikram hot room yoga practice.
